Phoenix Community Housing is a not-for-profit resident led Housing Association in Lewisham, South East London.

In December 2007, 6,368 properties were transferred from Lewisham Council to Phoenix, the first Housing Association in London to adopt The Community Gateway approach aimed at empowering tenants to play a central role in decision making through a structure of neighbourhood panels.

At present 61% of the homes fail to meet the Decent Homes Standard. So in order to raise the standard of housing stock to be in excess of the governments Decent Homes standard £72m has been allocated over the next5 years.

Anglian has been allocated works to install windows in 2,900 properties and doors to 3,400 homes over the next 2 years with a budget in excess of £9m working alongside Mulalley & Lengard who are undertaking internal works.

The work requires a total project team of more than 25 people and has been mobilised by Ken Aston, one of Anglian’s most experienced employees. It will also include a range of training opportunities for new entrants into the construction industry. In order to service this contract Anglian has established a local depot, employing local people.

Anglian hit the ground running and fitted the first window on the day of stock transfer.

Anglian Building Products is the b2b division of Anglian Windows Limited, the UK’s market leader in the provision of PVCu windows, doors and conservatories.
